On December 29, Steve and I will leave for the Virgin Islands. We
will return to beautiful Minnesota on April 6. By the way, I'm not so
mean as to wish you cold weather while we're gone. I hope the
weather continues to be balmy!
While we're
gone, wecan be reached via e-mail at lvkluz at yahoo dot com and sjkluz at yahoo dot com. We are using a special cell phone this year into which
our lap top will be plugged and therefore messages sent over the phone
line. It's very modern and supposedly Steve knows how to do it. Plus,
if necessary, we can send short messages directly from our phone
without using our laptop as the conduit. It would be similar to text
messaging but the text would go to your computer. In order to send
messages we need to be near civilization. Once in a while you may not
hear back from me quickly due to this small inconvenience.
Fortunately I won't be hearing Steve swear and moan as he desperately
looks for radio waves onto which a message can be sent. That was last
year's method and it was pretty romantically old school but it took the
patience of a saint.
Onto
the next order of business. Please write to me so I won't get too
homesick. I won't be needing dramatic or exciting news. Just everyday
stuff will keep me in touch and feeling good. And definitely check back here at the blog. It will cover
stuff like barracuda attacks, roach infestations, last minute
hurricanes and of course, our usual bumbling attempts to sail and
dock Gustie. Stay tuned!
Please stay healthy and well and have a little fun while we're gone!
Happy New Year to all of you!
Happy New Year to all of you!
My friend Randal Dietrich emailed your link to me because he knows my husband, Jason, loves sailing. We have a sloop in Superior out of Barker's Island - a 26 footer named Finlandia, which I'm still trying to make friends with. Perhaps watching old hands will help me.
